Why this programme exists
Most people who learn to build a web page never get it onto the internet. They finish a course with files on a laptop and no idea what happens between that and a working address somebody else can visit — domains, DNS, TLS, a server, a database that survives a restart.
This programme covers both halves. Five modules take you from semantic HTML to a React front end talking to a PHP and MySQL back end, and then through the deployment that makes it real: Cloudflare Pages, a Linux server with Nginx, certificates, and the version control that lets you change it afterwards without breaking it.

What you will be able to do
- Write semantic, accessible HTML5 and lay a page out with Flexbox and CSS Grid rather than by trial and error.
- Build a responsive interface that works on a phone, using a mobile-first approach.
- Write modern JavaScript — const and let, arrow functions, array methods, async and await — and manipulate the DOM deliberately.
- Load and send data with the Fetch API and handle the failure cases rather than only the happy path.
- Build a PHP back end using PDO with prepared statements, so your application is not vulnerable to SQL injection.
- Hash and verify passwords correctly, and manage sessions.
- Design a normalised MySQL schema with foreign keys that actually enforce relationships.
- Build a React front end with components, props, state and routing.
- Deploy to Cloudflare Pages and to a Linux server with Nginx, including a free TLS certificate.
- Use Git for version control and deployment, rather than copying files over the old ones.
Who should attend
- Anyone wanting to build and run web applications professionally
- IT staff maintaining an organisation's website with no formal training
- Graduates in IT or computer science with theory but no shipped project
- Business owners who want to understand what they are paying developers for
- Designers moving into front-end development
Entry requirements. Basic computer literacy and comfort with a keyboard. No prior programming is required — Module 1 starts from the first line of an HTML document. Adequate English, since all programming languages, documentation and error messages are in English.
How the programme is taught
Roughly a third instruction, the rest writing code. Every module produces something that runs. The examples are drawn from Kevajopa's own systems — a student list, a course card, a login — so the code has the shape of real work rather than of a tutorial.
Module 5 deploys what the earlier modules built. That ordering is deliberate: deployment is taught with an application you understand, not with somebody else's sample project.
Module by module
Module 1 · Weeks 1–2 · 14 hours
HTML5 and CSS3 Fundamentals
The document, and then the layout. Both properly, because everything after this sits on top of them.
- Semantic HTML5 — header, nav, main, section, article, footer — and why screen readers and search engines depend on them
- The CSS box model, and box-sizing: border-box so that width means what you expect
- Flexbox for one-dimensional layout and CSS Grid for two — when each is the right tool
- Responsive design with media queries, mobile-first
Module 2 · Weeks 3–4 · 12 hours
JavaScript and ES6+
The language, written the way it is written now rather than the way it was written in 2010.
- const and let, arrow functions, template literals, destructuring
- DOM selection and event handling, and preventing the default the browser wants to do
- The Fetch API with async and await, including catching what goes wrong
- map, filter, reduce and find — the array methods that turn loops into one lines
Module 3 · Weeks 5–6 · 14 hours
PHP and MySQL Back End
The server side, taught with security as the default rather than as a later lesson.
- PDO connections and prepared statements — and a direct look at the concatenated query that gets applications breached
- Password hashing with bcrypt, verification, and session management
- MySQL schema design: primary keys, foreign keys, constraints and normalisation
- Building a working CRUD application against a real database
Module 4 · Weeks 7–8 · 14 hours
React
Component thinking, and the point at which a page becomes an application.
- Components, JSX and the single default export
- useState and useEffect, and what an empty dependency array actually means
- Props, lists and keys — and the warnings React gives you when you get them wrong
- React Router for multi-page applications without page reloads
Module 5 · Weeks 9–10 · 12 hours
Deployment — Cloudflare and Linux
Getting it onto the internet under a real domain, which is where most self-taught developers stop.
- Building for production and deploying to Cloudflare Pages, by direct upload and from Git
- Custom domains and DNS records
- A Linux server with Nginx and PHP-FPM: site configuration, roots and PHP handling
- Free TLS certificates with Let's Encrypt, and Git workflow for changing a live site safely
Assessment and certification
Assessment is continuous and project-based. Each module produces working code that is reviewed, and the programme ends with a complete application built and deployed to a live address by the participant.
A Kevajopa Technologies Limited Certificate in Web Development and Cloud is awarded on satisfactory completion of the project work and a minimum 80% attendance recorded per session.

What this programme does not cover
- Python and Django — our Full-Stack Web Development and Hosting programme covers that stack instead.
- Mobile application development for iOS or Android.
- Graphic design and UI design as disciplines — our Digital Marketing and Graphic Design programme covers those.
- Advanced cloud architecture, containers and orchestration.
- Any vendor certification examination.
Fees and enrolment
TZS 500,000 for the full ten-week programme, including all instruction and lab time, course materials, hosting for your project during the programme, all assessment and the certificate. Kevajopa Technologies Limited is not VAT-registered; no VAT is charged and none should be added. Public entities deduct 2% withholding tax at source in accordance with Tanzanian law — the withholding certificate should be issued to Kevajopa Technologies Limited, TIN 172-177-301.
We do not publish a fixed calendar. An intake is scheduled once a
